I saw A Dangerous Method on impulse the other day, and it was probably the best decision I will make in all of 2012. I went into it knowing absolutely nothing about the plot, which made for a very satisfying experience. If you have time to see it, I strongly recommend you do. This is a movie that could have easily been botched by lesser filmmakers - but, no - it was made by theater gods! For a movie that is almost entirely about sex, it was never once crude or insensitive or superfluous… it was tasteful and classy and intriguing, and I was really impressed by it. It’s based on real people, the story is amazing, and it’s beautifully written. Viggo Mortensen, Keira Knightley, and Michael Fassbender are such incredibly talented actors… I loved them all before, but now I love them even more.
